SPRAY FOAM INSULATIONSPF insulation will help you save on energy costs and lowers utility bills by creating a tight seal and preventing air movement. This air comes inside the home in the form of drafts through walls, windows and doors, and even sockets. Spray foam expands and completely fills every tiny hole and crevasse providing a superior air seal combined with a powerful R-Value per inch of installed spray foam.
Most commonly it is used in exterior walls, between wall studs, roof rafter.. This type of insulation can be used throughout the house, insulating floors, walls, ceiling, and attics as well as basements and crawl spaces |
Types of Spray Foam insulation
Open Cell and Closed Cell. Both materials are great insulators and air barriers, and offer many benefits to make your home more energy- efficient. To determine which material is best for your project will require an evaluation by one of our "Comfort Specialist" If you live in Texas Hill Country where there are extreme seasonal temperature changes or you live in a flood prone area, closed cell is often a better choice. Closed cell spray foam acts as a vapor barrier, keeping water and moisture out of your home and the foam itself is water resistant. Open cell is a great option if you live in a milder climate, as it is moisture permeable and help provides an optimal barrier. Often, regardless of where you live, you may choose to use both types of spray foam on a single project |
BATT / REFLECTIVE INSULATIONThere are many benefits to consider when choosing batt insulation for your home. It is a cost-efficient option, offers varying degrees of sound absorption, can reduce energy costs, and is available in different materials and thicknesses to help achieve optimal energy efficiency.
Batt insulation or often referred to as blanket insulation, generally consists of fiberglass, mineral wool and even denim cotton. It is pre-cut and sized to fit most standard building sizes and are best suited for residential houses and commercial applications. Most commonly it is used in between wall studs, attic rafters, and ceiling joists. This type of insulation can be used throughout the house, insulating floors, walls, ceiling, and attics as well as basements and crawl spaces |
Types of Batt Insulation
Fiberglass Fiberglass batt is the most common type of batt insulation in Texas Hill Country, New Braunfels and San Marcos . It is comprised of recycled glass that is melted down and spun into a molten liquid to produce thin fibers. Binders are added to hold the fibers together to create batts, rolls, and loose-fill insulation. Mineral Wool Mineral wool is created from natural spun-stone and natural minerals. It is made by spinning molten basalt and/or blast-furnace slag (a waste product of molten metal). Mineral wool insulation is fireproof and has a higher density than fiberglass batts, creating a better sound barrier. Denim Cotton Denim insulation is made from post-consumer recycled natural fibers, such as denim jeans. Denim insulation is non-toxic and has a Class A fire rating, it is also mold and mildew resistant. |
BLOWN- IN INSULATIONBlown-in insulation fills every nook and cranny of the attic and creates an extra fluffy layer of effective insulation. It is a convenient choice that can be blown in over existing insulation or in between walls and ceiling joists without disturbing structures. Loose-fill fiberglass or cellulose can be blown on your attic floor, between walls, or other spaces that may require insulation. Blown-in insulation can easily cover large areas and will fill in areas with tight spaces and angles. Polar Boyz Insulation installs blown-in for retrofit, residential, commercial, and new build construction..

Types of Blown-In Insulation
Fiberglass Fiberglass is made from plastic, glass, and other raw materials that are melted and spun into fibers that resemble the texture of wool. Fiberglass insulation has moisture and fire-resistant properties. Because fiberglass is made from sand and glass, it is naturally non-combustible. Fiberglass has significant recycled content with some loose-fill products containing up to 80% recycled glass. Blown-in insulation not only protects your home from energy loss, but also helps reduce emissions associated with heating and cooling equipment. This can be treated to resist pest and other contamination. Cellulose Cellulose consists of fibers made from recycled newspaper, cardboard, or wood and is made with or without binders. Cellulose is a very common type of blown-in insulation as it is made from recycled materials and is chemically treated to resist pests, mold, and fire. Boric acid is the primary chemical used to treat Cellulose insulation and is found naturally in seawater, fruits, and plants. Cellulose is made up of 80% recycled materials, with the remaining consisting of non-toxic borate solution. |
